Graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1982 with a degree in Industrial Arts and Education
Bird Vinyl Products – 1983 – 1985
Process Engineer for Vinyl Siding. Included designing and developing tooling converting the Bird product line from profile extrusion to post form extrusion using sheet dies and twin screw extruders, increasing the production rate from 400 lbs per hour to over 1,000 lbs. per hour. Also, aided in directing the work in the in-house tool and die shop.
American Greetings – 1985 – 1986
Production Supervisor. Directed a production crew of over 30 employees in a fast-paced production environment, meeting or exceeding all production targets. Also aided in setting up the printing department at the Bardstown, KY facility.
BG Machine, Inc. – 1985 – 1986
Design Engineer(part-time). Designed and developed post-forming calibration and cut-off tooling for vinyl siding extrusion. Some of the techniques developed are still in use today.
BG Machine, Inc. – 1986 – 2011
Operations Manager. Sales, Design, and Development of extrusion machinery and tooling for the vinyl siding and skirting industry. Also developed shop practices and procedures for manufacturing tooling and equipment. Responsible for opening new markets for BG Machine tooling and equipment, which included sales and service in Eastern and Western Europe, Asia, North and South America.
